Our future

To ensure that the Forest Products Commission delivers on its vision, mission and values, we will focus on our core businesses in native forests, plantations and sandalwood.

Some of our planned activities in the future include:

• work with the forest industries to ensure that the timber supply chains deliver the optimal outcome for the industry and FPC;
  
• encourage new industries and markets to utilise low grade resources;
  
• improve market opportunities by promoting the unique qualities and aesthetic features of Western Australian timbers;
  
• create economic development opportunities to assist in increasing regional employment, state supported infrastructure and social benefits;
  
• develop and implement a sandalwood industry strategy; and
  
• maintain international environmental and sustainable certification.
