Coupes and indicative total sawlog volumes
Southern region - 2002
Notes:
- The supply of other log products is subject to demand. For example, while sufficient karri and marri chiplog will be generated to meet contracts, the volume of chiplog from individual coupes may be varied through the retention of non-sawlog quality trees.
- Additional log products may be generated from minor clearing operations associated with utility construction, fencing, or mining activities.
- Harvesting operations in some coupes will extend beyond the 12 month period, so a portion of the log volumes will ‘carry-over’ into the next year.
- The location and extent of thinning operations in the regrowth karri is being finalised – this plan contains additional areas to provide planning flexibility.
Explainations:
® Coupes wholly or partly comprised of young regrowth karri, scheduled for first thinning operations. While these thinnings generate mainly chiplogs, some sawlogs may be available depending on the stand and operational settings.
