Coupes and indicative total sawlog volumes

Swan region - 2008

Notes:

  1. The net plan area is the coupe area less informal and other reserves set aside from timber harvesting. Within the area, detailed coupe planning will further reduce the area available to be harvested by retaining silvicultural exclusion zones and applying other constraints.  Areas will be harvested to a range of silvicultural objectives including thinning, regeneration establishment (shelterwood) and regeneration release (gap creation).
  2. The supply of other log products will be subject to demand.
  3. Additional sawlog volume may be generated from approved clearing operations associated with utility construction, fencing, or other activities such as salvage from wildfire or storm events.
  4. Harvesting operations in some coupes will extend beyond the 12-month period, so a portion of the log volumes will ‘carry-over’ into the next year.

Explainations

* denotes coupes where the location of indicative fauna habitat zones may need consideration.
