GETTING INVOLVED

FPC staff undertaking planting duties

If you would like to participate in - and benefit from - tree farming programs, you must be prepared to commit a minimum of area of land, suitable for tree farming, to the provider’s scheme.

Tree Farming service providers will assess your land and, if suitable for their needs, develop plans and agreements in consultation with you. These could cover identification of the most appropriate 'driver' and support species for your soil types and rainfall level.

Depending on the service provider’s processes and systems, any offer made for the use of your land will vary depending on the location and the range of available species options for that area. Service providers may provide various options for payment which could include an up-front lump sum or a regular annuity over the expected tree crop rotation, which will vary, depending on the species to be planted. Depending on their structure, some service providers may offer you the additional opportunity to receive share of the profits of harvesting activities.
